"Can I enclose my patio with pool safety fence versus going around my pool?" This is a very common question we get. The answer is not so easy. As a pool safety expert we want to show the areas that the child may be able to gain access to the pool. The easy answer is there should at all times be a barrier between each door and pool. The not so easy answer is the children that may enter the pool from the neighbors side or the back of the yard (depending of cours on your layout of your yard etc.). We recently did a job in the back yard of a family that the yard backed up to a golf course. They have a back wall and they have a side wall (tall enough that a small kid cannot get over) so in this particular case, it makes perfece sense for them to have a removable pool fence around the patio with a self closing, self latching and lockable gate. The next choice was the color for them. Pool Guard of Puerto Rico has over 16 different color combinations so choosing the proper color certainly was easy given the color of the house and surroundings. Pool Guard of Puerto Rico keeps a stock of all the top colors at all times so that when you contact us, we can install your new pool safety fence in a very short period of time.

Pool safety fences have been around for years and continue to be the best line of defense for children in keeping them out of the pool. Frequently we get questions about which pool safety product makes the most sense for the home owner...a pool fence, a pool cover or a pool net. The majority of the time the consumer will decide to go with a pool fence because of the user friendly aspect of the product. In other words, they can leave the fence up and still use the pool. Certainly not having the fence closed presents a huge problem and this happens when people purchase a pool fence but do not purchase a pool safety gate. It is very important to have a self closing, self latching and lockable gate on your pool fence. A perfect example is when you are carrying groceries in from the house and your front door does not close behind you (I have never seen a person with the self closing option on their front door). The first load of groceries is usually light because you are bringing the child in as well. The second load you open the door and quickly go to the car and upon your return (if you did not put the child in the playpen) the child has moved to a different place and often times go for the door. The exact same thing happens with the fence around the pool if there is no gate. If the homeowner leaves the gate segment open, goes elsewhere for two minutes (because they may be answering the phone or carrying towels in from the pool), the child will go straight for the pool. The results can be very bad and more importantly they could have been avoided by purchasing a self closing, self latching and lockable gate. Every pool fence should have one, the cost of a baby gate is relatively inexpensive.Safe pooling!
Living on an island has a long list of benefits however some of the benefits bring along a little bit of work. Keeping a pool open year round is a nice benefit unless of course you have a severe leaf or iguana problems. This was the case with our most recent client that was so tired of dealing with iguanas leaving "gifts" in his pool and on his pool deck he elected to have a pool cover installed so as to act as shield to keep the leaves and more importantly the iguanas. I got a call from this customer (he has had his pool cover on his pool now for three weeks) and he wanted to thank me for making his life that much easier in regards to keeping the pool clean. He purchased a pool safety cover that is solid with a drain hatch in the center for the water to get through and now all he has to do is spray the "iguana gifts" off the cover as well as the leaves. A side benefit that he has noticed was that the water evaporation has been much lower. Call pool guard of puerto rico today for your free custom cover estimate.
